Men's Soccer in 3rd round playoff on Saturday; Winner goes to state finals
The De Anza Men's Soccer team will play Hartnell College on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. at home during the third round (State Quarterfinal) CCCAA playoff game. The winner will go to the State championships.
De Anza defeated City College of San Francisco (CCSF) on Tuesday, Nov. 26, in a very close game by the score of 2-1. The game went into overtime and then penalty kicks. De Anza made all five PKs, and De Anza keeper Sean Lyons made one key PK save to help De Anza win.
The De Anza team will have light workouts on Thanksgiving morning and on Friday prior to playing the game.
Men's Soccer Players Wear Pink
During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each Thursday this month, members of the Men's Soccer team have worn pink uniforms to class to raise awareness about the disease.
Ranked #2 in the Coast Conference with 7 wins, 1 loss and 5 ties, the team plays sister college Foothill at De Anza on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m. De Anza players will suit up in their pink uniforms.

2012 Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Nick Mattis for being named the California Community College Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for 2012-2013.
The honor was announced at the coaches meetings in early August 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Nick's team finished in 4th place at the state championships last fall. This was the highest finish for a De Anza Cross Country team since the 1977 state championship win. Read the highlights about last year's Cross Country team victories.

at the Crystal Springs Invitational
Join the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams on Friday, Sept. 27, starting at 4 p.m., to cheer on our runners as they compete at the Crystal Springs Invitational in nearby Belmont.
All fall De Anza cross country events are held off campus at various venues throughout Northern and Central California. Crystal Springs is the closest location to De Anza.
